The Joliet Cluster is continuing to support the Ridgewood United Community Pantry, an outreach ministry of Trinity United Methodist Church. In November, we are asked to gather puddings and cake mixes.  Please place them in the blue bin in the narthex.

Be sure to pick up your copy of November/December edition of The Upper Room.  Regular and large-print copies are on the credenza in the narthex.

Consecration Sunday is coming!  Our annual Stewardship Campaign is in progress and will culminate with the offering of our pledges on Sunday, November 9, followed by a celebratory Pot-Luck meal.  Be sure to be here for this important event in the life of our church.

Our Annual Church Conference with Aurora District Superintendent Rev. Diana Facemyer will take place on Sunday, November 30, at 4:00 p.m. in Fellowship Hall.  All members and friends of Hope United Methodist Church are invited and encouraged to attend.  Reports for the Annual Report should be submitted to Roberta by Monday, November 17, at 9:00 a.m.

From Pastor Glenna - I would like to thank the congregation for the gift card to "Family Christian Stores" in honor of Pastor Appreciation Month.  Your continued outpouring of love is very much appreciated.

All-Church Outing - We are going to have an all church outing to see "You Can't Take it With You" on Sunday, November 2 at 2:00 p.m.  We will meet at the church at 1:30 for car pooling.  Cost is $10, $9 for seniors and students.  (If 10 people attend we will receive a group rate.)  The sign-up sheet is in the narthex.  See Pastor Glenna if you have questions.

Church Women United will hold their World Community Day Celebration on Friday, November 7, at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, 1508 Arthur Avenue, Joliet, at 10:00 a.m.  The speaker will be Rosetta Flowers, who was formerly involved in prison ministry.  She will speak on the topic, “God’s Wisdom Sets Us Free.”  Lunch will be at noon.  Please bring non-perishable items for the Spanish Community Center.

Forty additional copies of “The Faith We Sing” hymnal was purchased recently with funds from the Keefer Blackwell memorial.  Now there are sufficient copies for use in our worship services.

The United Methodist Men will have a Quilt drawing on March 7, 2009, the day of our Corned Beef Dinner. Tickets are on sale now for the drawing.  See Linda or Roger Hess to buy one ticket for $1.00, or six tickets for $5.00.   The proceeds will be designated for current expenses. The quilt is hanging at the back of the sanctuary.
