The Joliet Cluster is continuing to support the Ridgewood United Community Pantry, an outreach ministry of Trinity United Methodist Church, located in the Ridgewood neighborhood of Joliet.  In August, we are asked to gather pasta, pasta sauces, and large jars of mayonnaise.  Please place them in the blue bin in the narthex, and many thanks to you for your assistance.

 

VBS reunion and Rally Day on Sept. 7 2008 - Children will meet upstairs during Sunday School to sing their favorite Beach Party Songs.  Review the stories and meet our special guest Fitzwilliam. Everyone is invited to a Hot Dog lunch with ice cream to be served afterwards.  Letters will be sent in August, with a RSVP request for the number of Hot dogs you can eat. NO LIMIT!

 

Pastor Glenna will be on vacation August 17-23.    Pastoral care emergencies will be covered by Plainfield United Methodist Church.  Please call 815-436-9651 and follow the prompts to reach the pastor on call. Pastor Glenna will resume her duties on Sunday, August 24.

 

Pastor Glenna will be leading a New Members Class after worship on Sept. 14, 21, and 28.  Anyone interested in becoming a member of Hope United Methodist Church is welcome to attend.  Please let Pastor Glenna know if you will be attending so enough materials may be prepared for the class.

 

The United Methodist Men will have a Quilt drawing on March 7, 2009. This will be the day of our Corned Beef Dinner. Tickets are on sale now for the drawing.  See Linda or Roger Hess to buy one ticket for $1.00, or six tickets for $5.00.   The proceeds will be designated for current expenses. The quilt can be seen hanging at the back of the sanctuary.

 

The DEADLINE for the September Circuit Rider is next Sunday, August 24.
